Ingredients / Equipment
-
V60 dripper funnel
-
V60 paper filter
-
Gooseneck kettle (for controlled pouring)
-
Coffee grinder
-
Coffee beans (medium-fine grind recommended)
-
Scale and timer
-
Chemex cup or serving cup
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Prepare the Filter
-
Fold the paper filter and place it in the V60 dripper.
-
Rinse the filter with hot water to remove paper taste and preheat the dripper.
-
Discard the rinse water.
2. Add the Coffee
-
Place the V60 dripper and cup on the scale and zero it.
-
Add 15 grams of medium-fine ground coffee (adjust according to taste).
-
Gently shake the dripper to level the coffee bed.
3. Start the Brewing Timer
-
Place the dripper on the scale with the serving cup underneath and zero the scale.
4. Begin Pouring
-
Pour approximately 50 grams of hot water evenly over the grounds to saturate them.
-
Allow the coffee to bloom for 30–45 seconds.
5. Continue Pouring
-
Pour the remaining water in a controlled, circular motion from the center outward.
-
Avoid pouring directly on the filter paper’s edges.
-
Pour in stages until you reach the desired total water volume.
6. Complete the Brewing
-
Allow all the water to drip through the grounds.
-
Total brewing time should be 2–3 minutes.
-
Adjust grind size if brewing is too fast (use finer) or too slow (use coarser).
Tips
-
Experiment with different coffee beans and grind sizes to find your ideal taste.
-
A gooseneck kettle helps maintain control over pour speed and direction.
